Uttama Kshama – Supreme Forgiveness – (To observe tolerance whole-heartedly, shunning anger.)
उत्तम क्षमा धर्म
उत्तम क्षमा जहाँ मन होई, अन्तर-बाहिर शत्रु न कोई।
The ornament of a man is his nature; the ornament of nature is virtue;
the ornament of virtue is knowledge, the ornament of knowledge is forgiveness (Kshama).
क्रोध की बाह्य प्रसंग उपस्थित होने पर भी, रत्नत्रय की दृढ़ आराधना के बल पर
क्रोध की उत्पत्ति नहीं होने देना और वीतराग भावरूप रहना, असह्य प्रतिकूलता आने पर
भी आराधना में भंग नहीं होने देना- वह उत्तम क्षमा की आराधना है।
Forbearance (Kshama) is the inherent virtue of soul.
When the soul degrades from its real attributes to ill nature,
such a soul is called attached (raagi) or full of malice - ill-will (dwaish), etc.,
because soul is simple and forgiving by nature.
Rightly has it been said: ‘To err is human; to forgive divine’.
क्षमास्वभावी आत्मा के आश्रय से समस्त प्राणियों को उत्तमक्षमा धर्म प्रकट हो और
सभी अतीन्द्रिय ज्ञानानन्दस्वभावी आत्मा का अनुभव कर पूर्ण सुखी हो।

Uttama Mardava – Tenderness or Humility (To observe the virtue of humility subduing vanity and passions.)
उत्तम मार्दव धर्म
उत्तम मार्दव विनय प्रकासे, नाना भेद ज्ञान सब भासे।
Knowledge brings humility. When a tree is overloaded with fruits, its branches bend down. Likewise a
learned man bows down with humility on the acquisition of knowledge; he becomes devoid of vanity.
निर्मल भेदज्ञान से जिसने सारे जगत् को अपने से भिन्न स्वप्रवत् देख लिया है, और जो
उआत्माभावना में तत्पर है उस को जगत् के किसी भी पदार्थ में गर्व का अवकाश ही कहा है?
पंचपरमेष्ठी आदि धर्मात्मा गुणीजनों के प्रति बहुमान पूर्वक विनयप्रवर्तन यह भी मार्दव
धर्म का एक प्रकार है।
To take pride in eight things viz. knowledge, fame, ancestry, tribe, power,
affluence, penance and body is known as vanity. This vanity defiles the virtues of
our soul. As soon as a living being gets rid of all these eight types of vanity,
he is crowned with the virtue of compassion (Mardava Dharma).
मार्दवस्वभावी आत्मा के आश्रय से समस्त प्राणियों को उत्तममार्दव धर्म प्रकट हो और
मार्दवस्वभावी आत्मा पर्याय में भी पूर्ण मार्दवधर्म से युक्त हो जाएगा; मानादि का लेश भी ना रहे।

उत्तम आर्जव धर्म
उत्तम आर्जव कपट मिटावे, दुरगति त्यागी सुगति उपजावे |
Deceit can never be concealed inspite of our attempt to conceal it; nor can bad luck remain hidden. Fire wrapped in cotton cannot be kept suppressed for long.
जो भवभ्रमण से भयभीत हैं और रत्नत्रय की आराधना में तत्पर हैं ऐसे मुनिराज अपने गुरु के पास जाकर अत्यन्त सरलता से अपना सर्वदोष प्रकट करते हैं, और इस प्रकार अति सरल परिणाम से आलोचना करके रत्नत्रय में लगे हुए दोषों को नष्ट करते हैं |
Whatever thoughts one sustains in one’s heart, the same should find expression in speech and the same put to action in outward life i.e., the body should also conduct accordingly; it is known as uprightness or straight- forwardness. On the contrary to cheat others, is irreligious or sin.
आर्जवस्वभावी आत्मा के आश्रय से समस्त प्राणियों को उत्तम आर्जव धर्म प्रकट हो और मायाचार का परिहार करके और कुटिलता छोड़कर कर्म का क्षय करने वाले आर्जव धर्म को धारण करे |
ऐसे आर्जव धर्म के आराधक सन्तों को नमस्कार हो |
उत्तम शौच धर्म
उत्तम शौच लोभ-परिहारी, सन्तोषी गुण-रतन भण्डारी |
Anger destroys love, pride puts an end to modesty, and deceit removes friends, while greed destroys everything.
भेदज्ञान के द्वारा जगत् के समस्त पदार्थों से जिसने अपने आत्मा को भिन्न जान लिया है, देह को भी अत्यन्त जुदा जान कर उसका भी ममत्व छोड़ दिया है, और पवित्र चैतन्य-तत्व की आराधना में जो तत्पर है, ऐसे मुनिवरों को किसी भी परद्रव्य के ग्रहण की लोभप्रवृत्ति नहीं होती, भेदज्ञानरूप पवित्र जल से मिथ्यावादी अशुचिता को धो डाला है |
The humanitarian approach to lessen the miseries of living beings is included in the abstention from greed of worldly possessions. Contentment aims at putting a limit on the worldly possessions by individuals according to their needs and desires.
“Greed is the root cause of all crimes and sins.”
शौचस्वभावी आत्मा के आश्रय से समस्त प्राणियों को उत्तमशौच धर्म प्रकट हो और जगत् के समस्त पदार्थों संबंधी लोभ को छोड़ कर मात्र चैतन्य को साध कर शौच धर्म को धारण करे |
ऐसे शौच धर्म के आराधक मुनिवरों को नमस्कार हो |
उत्तम सत्य धर्म
उत्तम सत्य-वचन मुख बोले, सो प्राणी संसार न डोले |
“Truthfulness is the basis of all the virtues that form good character. One who is true to himself is true to world.”
मुनिराज वचनविकल्प को छोड़कर के सत्वस्वभाव को साधने में तत्पर है और यदि वचन बोले भी तो वस्तुस्वभाव के अनुसार स्वपर हितकारी सत्यवचन ही बोलते हैं | मुनिराज सम्यग्ज्ञान से वस्तुस्वभाव जान करके उसी का उपदेश देते हैं, श्रोताजन आत्मज्योति के सन्मुख हो और उनका अज्ञान दूर हो वैसा उपदेश देते हैं |
It is quite natural for a living being to commit a mistake due to his knowledge of only partial truth. Hence even by chance untrue words come out of his mouth now and then, he should get rid of this mistake by acknowledging the untruth; he should not conceal it.
“We can know only the partial truth. The real truth is known only to a Universal Observer.”
सत्य स्वभावी आत्मा के आश्रय से समस्त प्राणियों को उत्तमसत्य धर्म प्रकट हो और असत्य अभिप्राय को छोड़कर निष्कपटंक शुद्ध आत्मतत्व के आश्रय से वीतराग परिणति को सभी धारण करें |
ऐसे सत्यधर्म के आराधक सन्तों को नमस्कार हो |
उत्तम संयम धर्म
उत्तम संयम पाले ज्ञाता, नर-भव सफल करै, ले साता।
Fight with your own Self; what is good in fighting the external foe?
By conquering one’s ‘Self’ by means of one’s own Self, one obtains true Happiness.
अंतरमुख होकर निज स्वरूप से जिसका उपयोग गुप्त हो गया है ऐसे मुनिवरों को स्वप्न में भी किसी जीव को हनने की वृत्ति या इन्द्रियविषयों की वृत्ति नहीं होती। संयम मुक्ति का साक्षात् कारण है। दुःखों से छूटने का एक मात्र उपाय सम्यग्दर्शन सहित संयम ही है। बिना संयम धारण किये तीर्थंकर को भी मोक्ष नहीं होता।
To discard the external Parigrah - greed of worldly possessions, and internal Parigrah - freedom from evil actions in mind, speech and body; aversion for sensuous pleasures and destruction of passions have been proclaimed in general as the characteristics of a self-restrained person.
‘Self-restraint is the key to eternal happiness.’
संयम स्वभावी आत्मा के आश्रय से समस्त प्राणियों को उत्तमसंयम धर्म प्रकट हो और अंतरंग में कषायों से आत्मा को मलिन नहीं होने दे तथा बाह्य में यातनाचारी होकर प्रमाद रहित प्रवर्तन करे।
ऐसे उत्तम संयम के आराधक मुनिवरों को नमस्कार हो।
उत्तम तप धर्म
उत्तम तप निर्वांछित पाले, सो नर करम-शत्रु को टाले।
To vanquish the enemies of Soul; heating agent to purify the real Self; that which burns and annihilates the Karmic matter; penance; and rigorous religious meditation.
मनुष्य भव पाकर यदि स्व-पर तत्व का ज्ञान किया है, तो मन सहित पाँचों इन्द्रियों को रोककर, विषयों से विरक्त होकर, सभी परिग्रह को छोड़कर, बंध करनेवाली राग-द्वेषमयी प्रवृत्ति को छोड़कर, उपाप के आलम्बन से छूटने के लिए, ममता नष्ट करने के लिए आत्मा में प्रतपन करना चाहिए।
Suppression of desires to attain the three jewels is called penance. To discard all desires at heart and become absorbed in the real self in order to conquer the karmas is known as penance. The word penance means to shun the sensual pleasures.
“Self-torture is not a curse, but a boon and a way to eternal peace.”
तप स्वभावी आत्मा के आश्रय से समस्त प्राणियों को उत्तम तप धर्म प्रकट हो और समस्त रागादि भावों के त्यागपूर्वक आत्मस्वरूप में प्रतपन कर तप धर्म को सभी धारण करें।
ऐसे उत्तम तपधर्म के आराधक सन्तों को नमस्कार हो।
उत्तम त्याग धर्म
उत्तम त्याग करे जो कोई, भोगभूमि-सुर-शिवसुख होई।
“To renounce all sense of possession with regard to wealth is a very difficult vow. The more you covet, the more you lose; and the more you give up, the more you merit.”
निज शुद्धातमा के ग्रहणपूर्वक बाह्य और अभ्यन्तर परिग्रह से निवृत्ति त्याग है। ‘मैं शुद्ध चैतन्यमय आत्मा हूँ देहादिक कुछ भी मेरा नहीं’, इस प्रकार सर्वत्र ममत्व के त्यागपूर्ण परिणाम से चैतन्य में लीन होकर मुनिराज उत्तम त्याग धर्म की आराधना करते हैं।
A man cannot obtain peace and happiness by accumulating material things like wealth and property, nor do these things enhance his prestige; rather renunciation adds to his prestige and honor, and he achieves peace and happiness.
“In this world it is not what we take up but what we give up, that makes us rich.”
त्याग स्वभावी आत्मा के आश्रय से समस्त प्राणियों को उत्तमत्याग धर्म प्रकट हो और समस्त ममत्व को त्याग कर, सर्व परभाव के त्याग रूप ज्ञान स्वभाव की आराधना कर त्याग धर्म को सभी धारण करें।
ऐसे उत्तम त्यागधर्म के आराधक मुनिवरों को नमस्कार हो।
उत्तम आकिंचन्य धर्म
उत्तम आकिंचन व्रत धारे, परम समाधि दशा विस्तारे |
“Desires are limitless. Hopes live eternal in the heart of a man. There is no end to possessions.
Still man is running a mad race after possessions and material objects day and night.:
भिन्न परपदार्थों के लक्ष्य से उत्पन्न होने वाले चित्तविकारों को अपना नहीं मानना, जानना;
‘एक शुद्ध ज्ञानानंदस्वभावी आत्मा ही मेरा है, इसके सिवाय अन्य कुछ भी मेरा नहीं’-
ऐसे भेद ज्ञान के बल से देहादि समस्त परद्रव्यों में, रागादि समस्त परभावों में;
एकात्वबुद्धि और लीनता का मुनिराज परित्याग करते हैं |
Thirst of desires of every living being has grown to the extent that even if he attains all
the wealth of the whole world, his thirst of desires can never be quenched by any means.
This ignorant creature has been wasting his precious lifetime in claiming such mortals
and transitory objects, which are different from self as his own.
“To give up the belief that this thing belongs to me is the virtue of non-attachment.”
आकिंचन्यस्वभावी आत्मा के आश्रय से समस्त प्राणियों को उत्तमआकिंचन्य धर्म प्रकट हो और
मिथ्यात्व, मोह-राग-द्वेष के अभाव रूप ज्ञानानंदस्वभावी आत्मा का आश्रय कर आकिंचन्य धर्म को सभी धारण करें |
ऐसे उत्तम आकिंचन्य धर्म के आराधक मुनिवरों को नमस्कार हो |

उत्तम ब्रह्मचर्य धर्म
उत्तम ब्रह्मचर्य मन लावे, नर-सुर सहित मुक्ति-फल पावे |
Brahma means Soul, which is Chaste, Enlightened, Eternal and Blissful.
To become fully engrossed in Soul is Brahmacarya; Celibacy.
विषयों में आसक्ति यही कुशील है, तथा विषयों से विरक्ति ही ब्रह्मचर्य है |
देखो! विषय विरक्त जीव नरक की वेदना में भी दुखी नहीं होता और वहाँ से निकलकर
तीर्थंकर होता है, विषय आसक्त जीव द्रव्यलिंगी मुनि भी हो तो भी विषय आग में जलता हुआ
एकेन्द्रिय में जन्म लेता है | यह सब शील-ब्रह्मचर्य का ही प्रताप है |
The root of self restraint or abstention from sensual pleasures is good conduct;
and both self restraint and good conduct are dependent on chastity.
The capability of sustaining the life force in the body is celibacy.
It alone generates vitality, radiance and luster in the body.
“Chastity is the flower of life tree; genius, purity and velour are its numerous fruits.”
ब्रह्मचर्य स्वभावी आत्मा के आश्रय से समस्त प्राणियों को उत्तमब्रह्मचर्य धर्म प्रकट हो और
परमब्रह्म शुद्धस्वरूप में रम जाएँ, जम जाएँ, और अनन्तकाल तक तद्रूप परिणमित हुए अनन्त सुखसमुद्र में स्नान करें |
ऐसे उत्तम ब्रह्मचर्य धर्म के आराधक सन्तों धर्मात्माओं को नमस्कार हो |

क्षमा-वाणी
क्षमा वीर्यस्य भूषणम् !!!
Forgiveness is a virtue of humility. It is an ornament of social courtesy. Forgiveness is sinless. It is pure.
Forgiveness is woodland of peace, where perfect calm prevails and austerities are performed.
उपसर्गों में भी समता धारण किए रहना कायरों का काम है ?
क्षमा कायरता नहीं, क्षमा धारण करना कायरों का काम भी नहीं;
पर वीरता भी तो मात्र दूसरों को मारने का नाम नहीं है, दूसरों को जीतना ही वास्तविक वीरता है |
अपनी वासनाओं को, कषायों को मारना; विकारों को जीतना ही वास्तविक वीरता है |
O Mortal Man! Ask forgiveness, ask forgiveness & ask forgiveness from all with a feeling
‘Welfare of all living beings, and peace and happiness for all creatures’.
Forgiveness is not merely a matter of oratory, it is treasure of the inner Soul as well.
The sweet taste of sucrose can be felt only by the tongue.
But the sweetness of forgiveness lies dormant in the inner Self.
दूसरों से क्षमा याचना करने एवं क्षमा करने के साथ-साथ हम स्वयं को भी क्षमाकर स्वयं में ही जम जाएँ, रम जाएँ
और अनन्त शान्ति के सागर निजशुद्धात्मतत्व में निमग्न हो अनन्तकाल तक अनन्त आनन्द में मग्न रहें |
ऐसी क्षमा के धारक सभी सधर्मियों को नमस्कार हो |
