We know परिणमन is happening in all the 6 dravyas.

But what about Kaal dravya itself? What परिणमन is happening in it.

काल द्रव्य निरन्तर परिवर्तनशील है। उसके स्वभाव को हम अन्य द्रव्यों के परिप्रेक्ष्य में ही समझ सकते हैं। यही उसका परिणमन है।

But my question is what is changing in Kaal Dravya itself.
Because for rest of the dravyas we are saying since Kaal is associated with them we are saying they are changing.
It’s asking like what’s enlightening the candle if it’s enlightening the room.
Thus, kaal dravya itself is changing every samay. However, this couldn’t be put into words.
Paryay of Kaal dravya is named as “Samay”, as Samay is changing/progressing - paryay of Kaal dayva is changing.
Paryay of other dravyas is named as “Samay Sapeshik Change”, as Samay is changing/progressing - paryay of other dayvas is changing with respect to samay.
Pariṇamana means utpāda, vyaya and dhrauvya. This defines the Sat in the dravyas.

In simple words every pariṇamana is defined in 2 ways upādana and nimitta. Like, Jīva is having jīvatva. now the upādāna is the Jīva itself and nimitta can be many like śvāsocchvāsa, āyu, indriya etc. similarly Kāla is having pariṇama. The upādāna is kāva and nimitta can be any 2 consecutive activities dūdha-dahi or mati-śruta.

My understanding of Aakash Dravya is this:
Aakash gives space to all the dravyas which includes aakash itself.
Think the following
Experience the difference in saying other dravya are in aakash and other dravya are in their own thing… this will help you understand why aakash is called nimitt and we r not indeed in space / thing call aakash. We r just there but we r not in it.
though kaal becomes nimit of change in others … as the time changes, the state of all other dravya changes… but can we say as x thing changes, time changes? kaal / time changes, and it need none to change time. Just like aakash needs none to get space. Aakash itself if space. Time itself is change. वर्तना।
that “change of time” itself is the change in kaal dravya. And that change of time needs who to change? None.
